Us by Inawa is designed to protect the privacy of couples. This page explains what data is processed and why.
Data processed
- Account information (email, Apple ID, or Google account, user identifier).
- Profile information (display name, date of birth, optional, used only for birthday reminders).
- Relationship information (role in space, gender identity, optional, used only to personalize your space experience, pronouns, optional).
- Content shared in the space (messages, media, files).
- Technical metadata (device, iOS version, diagnostics logs).
- Push notification tokens (for alerts).
Why we use it
- Provide core features (messaging, albums, calls, etc.).
- Secure access and prevent abuse.
- Send notifications related to your space.
Data sharing
We never sell your data and we never share it for advertising. Us shows no ads and does no advertising tracking. Your data reaches only the technical providers listed below, and only to run the service.
Our technical providers
Running Us requires a few specialised services. Each one receives only what it needs, and none of them may use your data for its own purposes.
- Supabase: hosting of the database, file storage and authentication.
- Firebase (Google): push notifications, usage measurement and crash reports.
- Apple Push Notification service: delivery of notifications on iOS.
- LiveKit: routing of audio and video calls.
- OCR.space: text recognition in the photos you share, so attachments can be found by search.
- Deepgram: transcription of voice notes, for the same purpose.
- Brevo: sending of transactional emails (sign-in links, confirmations).
The last two receive the content of your photos and voice notes. This processing exists only to make your attachments searchable inside your own space.
Retention
Your data is kept as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, permanent deletion is scheduled 30 days later: you can cancel at any point during that period. Your partner's shared space and their own content are preserved.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data at any time. Deletion can be started directly in the app, under Settings → Account & Security → Delete my account. You can also write to us and we will answer within 48 hours.
